The community event you’ve all been waiting for is back for another edition!
The Vondelgym Games, our yearly CrossFit buddy competition, is only open to members of our gyms. If you’re training in Amsterdam or Rotterdam, the following info is for you:
General
The competition will have 3 divisions this year! A male/male and a female/female division, as well as a newly added Masters 45+ male/male divison (born 1980 or earlier).
If you identify as non binary and would like to participate, send us a message and we will accommodate you.
To join in on the action, your team is required to complete the registration form.
Qualification
The qualifier workouts will be hosted in our Friday and Saturday CrossFit classes at all Amsterdam locations. Rotterdam members will be required to send in video submissions of their performances. The classes will appear under “events” in Gymly, so you can sign up for them regardless of the membership you have.
Qualifier workout 1 will be held on 29th & 30th of August.
Qualifier workout 2 will be held on 5th & 6th of September.
If you want to compete you have to sign up for BOTH qualifiers together with your buddy. Additionally, a final opportunity to complete a missed qualifier will be provided on September 13th and 14th, outside of the regular class hours in Amsterdam. Further details about the exact time and location for the makeup session will be sent out to all registered athletes via email!
Scores will only be taken into account if you performed them during the official time slots. It is also possible to do both workouts on the “makeup” weekend.
Finals
The finals will take place on October 4th and 5th at Vondelgym Amsterdam Zuid.
Just like last year, athletes will compete on Saturday AND Sunday, it is a 2 day competition for all divisions except for Masters 45+, who will only compete on Sunday.
Upon the conclusion of the qualifiers, all teams' performances will be ranked and invites to the finals will be sent out.
Teams will be categorised into different skill levels based on their rankings. The workouts for the finals will be curated according to the skill levels, making this event inclusive for everyone!
The divisions will be made up the following way:
Places 1-10 in the female division will qualify for “Division 1” and compete Saturday and Sunday. Places 11-20 in the female division will qualify for “Division 2” and compete Saturday and Sunday.
Places 1-20 in the male division will qualify for “Division 1” and compete Saturday and Sunday. Places 21-40 in the male division will qualify for “Division 2” and compete Saturday and Sunday.
Places 1-5 in the male Masters 45+ division will qualify for “Masters” and compete Sunday.
Every athlete competing in the Division 1 & 2 finals will be asked to pay 50€ for participating in the event. The cost to participate in the Masters division will be 35€ per person. Joining the qualifiers is free of charge.
More details about the qualifier workouts will follow soon on Instagram.

Rulebook Vondelgym Games 2025
Eligibility
- You have to be a member at Vondelgym Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
- - Vondelgym CrossFit coaches with permanent hours on the schedule are NOT eligible to
compete. - - Vondelgym staff members who regularly compete in CrossFit competitions are NOT eligible to
compete. - - Qualifiers have to be performed in the classes designated to them.
- - To compete in Division 1 or 2 you have to be available to compete on both days, October 4th
and 5th. It’s a two day event, it is not possible to compete on only one of those days. - - The finals have to be done together with the buddy that the qualification was done with.
Switching out your buddy is NOT allowed. In case of an injury, inform Niklas and he will match you in a fair manner, only if there’s another team that qualified for THE SAME division that also has 1 buddy that cannot make the finals.
Ranking system
- Teams earn points based on their performance in each workout, with higher rankings receiving fewer points. (1st gets 1 point, 2nd gets 2, 3rd gets 3 etc.)
- - Team with fewest accumulated points ranks highest.
- - In case of a tie between two teams having the same number of points, the tiebreaker will
involve a head-to-head comparison of events. If Team A outperforms Team B in 3 out of 5
workouts in a tied situation, Team A will secure the higher ranking.
- If the tie still remains, the tiebreaker will shift to looking at the highest-ranked individual event,
similar to how it’s done at the CrossFit Games. If Team A and Team B are tied in event wins over one another and Team A’s best finish is a 3rd place while Team B’s best finish is a 2nd place, Team B will be declared the winner.
